Happy Fall Y'all!
Autumn is upon us and what a beautiful time in Michigan this is! Time to finish up the garden, and clean up the greenhouse in preparation for the winter months. The cooler temperatures are great for working outdoors and the colors on the trees are beautiful!
We will be filling CSA shares until mid-October and then we will be treating our members to a farm to table dinner and farm tour as a thank you for a great CSA season! After that we will get some garlic planted and then put the garden to bed for the winter. We still have chickens and Thanksgiving turkeys to process this fall as well. We are definitely not 'done' for the year, but things will be slowing down and we will get a few chances to breath in some fresh fall air.
We will remain open two days each week for visitors until October 18 at which time we will be open by appointment only. Those open hours until mid-October are Wednesdays from 4:30-6:30 in the evenings and Saturdays from 9:00-Noon. We ask that outside of these hours you respect that we are a working farm and also live here. We are not available outside of these days/times for farm tours unless otherwise planned ahead. John and Lori both also work full time off the farm, as farming is a tough way to make a living! We love sharing our farm with others, so please feel free to stop out during our 'open' hours! We do not currently have a self serve roadside stand, but we are working on that, so keep an eye out for news on that!
We are now offering fresh pork on a regular cycle. So approximately every three months we will have more hogs to process. If you are interested in a whole or half hog, let us know and we can put you on the list for the next round. Chickens are also available fresh in July and again in the October. When they are not available fresh we offer them frozen while supplies last. We still have turkeys available for your Thanksgiving table so be sure to contact us soon to reserve yours!
Please be sure to follow us on Facebook, and Instagram for up to date information about the farm and what we have to offer.
Until we see you,
Peace to you and yours!
