Winter is coming!
Winter is near and that means switching gears here on the farm! The garden will be 'put to bed' with a hefty dose of compost and a cover crop. The greenhouse will be scrubbed clean and prepared for seed starting later in the winter. There is plenty of planning for next year to do as well. We still have plenty to do, just different tasks. Life on the farm is never boring!
We have begun taking registrations for the 2019 CSA season. If you have been thinking about joining, now is the time to get any questions you have answered and get signed up. We did sell out last year so don't delay. Check out the CSA page here for any questions you may have. If that doesn't answer all of your questions, just call or email and Lori will be glad to tell you all she can about how it all works.
Our new and improved roadside stand will be out as long as the temperatures allow. We usually have to bring it in around Thanksgiving. However since we don't want you to miss out on getting fresh eggs and frozen meats over the winter we will have our farm store open each Monday, dusk till dawn. Just pull out back when you see the "come on back" sign out! The store is self serve but Lori is typically around to chat or answer any questions. So watch for signs on the corners around the farm, or take a nice slow cruise down Lorenson Road to check us out! We are also planning a few open-house events throughout the year so watch our Facebook page for more details!
We are still offering fresh pork regularly. If you are interested in a whole or half hog, let us know and we can put you on the list for the next round. Chickens will be available fresh in late November as will Thanksgiving turkeys. Chickens are also available year 'round in the freezer.
Please be sure to follow us on Facebook, and Instagram for up to date information about the farm and what we have to offer.
Until we see you,
Peace to you and yours!
