What is a CSA? CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. Wikipedia describes a CSA as, "an alternative, locally based economic model of agriculture and food distribution." CSAs bring farmers and their communities together! CSA refers to a group of consumers who pledge to support a local farm and in return get to share in the bounty of the farm. The growers and the consumers share in the risks and benefits of food production. The farmers decide how many 'shares' they can offer and the community of consumers then pay upfront for a share of produce which they receive on a regular basis.
What is in it for YOU? In the middle of winter when everything is snow covered and cold, you can pay for your membership and look forward to a summer of fresh produce every week Each week, for 16 weeks, you will be able to pick up your fresh produce on our farm. (Deliveries are possible too! Ask for details) You will receive 5-10 different varieties per week in your share. Each week’s share is different depending on the season! An average early season share might include salad greens, fresh oregano, green onion, kale, radishes, and chives. Mid-summer a share could have red and/or gold potatoes, tomatoes, a variety of peppers, green beans, kale, basil, yellow summer squash, zucchini, yellow onions, and radishes. Then later in the growing season come more tomatoes and peppers, acorn squash, eggplant, onions, cabbage, broccoli, russet potatoes, and more green beans and kale! In addition to great fresh produce your membership in Lundell Farms’ CSA will get you these great benefits:
Special farm events
Wholesale prices for canning qtys of select produce

Fresher and more nutritious food for your family than you find in the grocery store.

Visits to the farm are a bonus! Members are able to see where their food comes from and know that it is raised with care. This can also be a teaching moment for the kiddos!
A connection with your food, nature, and those who grow your food.
What is in it for US? So with all those great benefits for you, you must be thinking that surely we are getting something out of this as well. And of course we are! That is how successful relationships work. We get to do our planning early in the year before the long days of outdoor labor are upon us. The hours of planning our garden layout, researching seeds, deciding on quantities needed, and marketing are easier done early in the year when we are snowed in and dreaming of those spring days! By knowing how many families we will be supplying, we are better able to plan accordingly. As the growers we get to know you and your family. We get in contact with the community around us and can enjoy knowing who we are sharing our labor of love with. We receive payment earlier in the season which helps us with cash flow in what is typically a very seasonable business. This helps us to get our seeds and any other supplies needed ordered and still maintain an even budget throughout the year.
Are you ready to join? If you agree with us that this sounds like a great plan, then keep reading! Here are the pricing and deadline details you will need to know.

Remember, by joining the Lundell Farms CSA you will get an abundance of these benefits above. When there are bumper crops your shares will show more than the typical amounts of vegetables. Likewise, if we have a crop loss due to weather, disease or other pests, there may be certain varieties of produce that are not as abundant. Please realize that farming as we do it is not a guarantee. We work with nature to get the best possible food for our family and yours! This is truly a labor of love for John and I.
